The Harbourview Hotel

About

Reopening Spring 2025.

A well-loved country hotel with a truly exceptional history located on the spectacular Causeway Coastal route, nestled in the picturesque village of Carnlough.

Built in 1848 by Frances Ann Vane Tempest, once owned by Sir Winston Churchill and formerly the Londonderry Arms Hotel.

In 2024 the hotel changed hands for only the second time in its long history. A new chapter has began at the Harbourview Hotel. The hotel retains the best elements of Irish hospitality yet is also innovative as Ireland’s first destination whiskey hotel.

A programme of room upgrades and a complete refurbishment of the restaurants, bars and event spaces is underway prior to a full reopening in Spring 2025. Architectural features and furniture are being restored maintaining the charm and ambiance, while the 35 refurbished bedrooms, restaurants and bar will compliment a homely feel with a coastal chic.

At the heart of the hotel you’ll find over 400 whiskies from all over the world, for the serious connoisseur and the merely whiskey-curious. The hotel will offer a programme of whiskey events, fireside stories with master distillers, whiskey dinners and of course tasting flights. A tapped cask will be available for residents’ nightcaps or to place on their porridge.

A truly unique experience available with trips just a few short miles across the water to our Scottish neighbours. Or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll around the harbour just opposite the hotel.

We look forward to seeing you here.
