About

Step into the vibrant tapestry of Broughshane Museum, where the past is not merely preserved, but brought to life for the curious minds of today and the generations yet to come.

Housed on the top floor of Broughshane House, since 2011, there are thousands of items in the museum's collection, from medical to military, agriculture to education and lots more in between, all with that local connection to the people of Broughshane and beyond.  It's a testament to the rich tapestry of human stories that have shaped this community for centuries.

From the resilient souls who weathered the trials of the Plantation of Ulster to the echoes of ancient Neolithic tribes, every corner of Broughshane  Museum reverberates with the echoes of history. Explore the lives of autograph collectors and fireside patchworkers, delve into the traditions of blacksmiths and wheelwrights through captivating video footage, and immerse yourself in the timeless melodies of local musicians.

But our museum isn't just about artefacts – it's a living, breathing archive of community life. Journey through the annals of time as you discover the legacies of figures like Sir George White VC, Colonel Joe Boyle, and Canon Grainger.

With every exhibit, every photograph, and every whispered story, Broughshane Museum invites you to become a part of the ongoing narrative of the Braid district. Whether you're a seasoned historian or a curious newcomer, there's something here for everyone to uncover and cherish.

Join us in preserving tomorrow's history today, one story at a time.

Please note:  Museum is located upstairs but accessible by a lift.  Managed by Broughshane Historical Society.
