You are invited to join us on Saturday 10 August at the Andrew Jackson Cottage and US Rangers Museum to celebrate August Craft Month as we showcase the traditional craft of crochet. This event will highlight the creativity and tradition of crochet through demonstrations and 'give it a go'. This unique event offers the perfect blend of heritage and artistry, providing a unique experience for all.
Drop in between 11am - 3pm on Saturday 10 August to take part.
Event Highlights:
• Expert Demonstration: Witness live crochet demonstrations by our resident crafter who will showcase traditional techniques and intricate designs.
• Have A Go!: Get hands-on and participate in the craft of crochet
• Historical Insights: Discover the rich history of embroidery and its significance in local culture. Our expert will share fascinating stories and the evolution of this timeless craft.
• Guided Tours: Take a guided tour of the cottage and museum, learning about the Donaldson family history, Carrickfergus' connection to the American presidency and the elite commando unit the US Rangers.
