About

Carrickfergus Urban Farm and Garden Centre at Kilcreggan works with adults and young people with a learning disability, Autism and acquired Brain Injury providing a valuable community open farm and social firm selling top quality horticulture plants and products.

The farm was established thanks to Linda Bennett, who loves animals and knew that spending time caring for animals and in nature made her feel good and improved her life.  She knew others could benefit too and so began the creation of a much-loved community space were our service users can engage in therapeutic activities and demonstrate their skills, passion and knowledge for what they do with visitors and guests.

What has emerged from the small seed planted 20 years ago is an attraction for everyone, a relaxed community space that operates as a social firm, engaging service users in all aspects of running a busy and successful garden centre and urban farm.

Groups, individuals and families can visit for free to see up close our popular pet goats, pigs, pony, poultry, waterfowl, geese and small pets.
We allow visitors to bring along fruit and vegetables to feed our animals, meet them up close and find out interesting facts about each.

Our Dancing Goat Café is set in the grounds of Kilcreggan Urban Farm & Garden Centre.  Our menu is hearty & healthy, offering gourmet quiche & sausage rolls, homemade stews & chillis. We also offer a fantastic range of scones, cheese cakes & traybakes with a large range of gluten free options. We have a patio with outside seating where dogs are welcome.  Kilcreggan Homes Ltd is an independent not for profit charity which means all profits made in the Dancing Goat Café go straight back into projects at Kilcreggan.

Our beautiful wooden cabin can also be rented out as a conference and training facility. We also hire our cabin for children birthday parties which provides a safe space, access to the farm, meet and greats with some of our animals and catering available from the Dancing Goat Café.
