Around the Town Festival

About

Around the Town is a first of its kind festival for Carrickfergus organised by a collective of local musicians and event planners. The festival originated via Positive Carrickfergus and their monthly conversations with musicians and creatives as they worked together on an arts strategy and programme of events for Carrickfergus Town Hall.

Experience a unique event programme featuring a diverse range of musical performances and community activities in venues across the town, each hosted by a local musician or performer showcasing the life and passions of musicians 'Around the Town'.

Over nine days, visitors can enjoy an eclectic mix of classical, traditional, jazz, rock, folk, and contemporary music. The festival showcases local talent and guest performers in both indoor and outdoor settings, including historic venues like the Carrickfergus Town Hall and charming outdoor spaces such as The Courtyard in Scotch Quarter.

Highlights include lively concerts, interactive workshops, a bustling artisan market, and unique experiences like a Grease singalong and a silent disco. Free events abound, with performances from local bands and musicians, while ticketed events offer intimate, high-quality musical experiences.

The festival concludes with an energetic outdoor finale featuring Anna’s Number, blending classic soul hits with modern tunes for a memorable closing celebration.

Accessibility is a priority at "Around the Town." Dedicated stewards and sensory aid kits are available at larger events. While every effort has been made to ensure access to venues and toilets, some heritage buildings may present challenges. Visitors with specific needs are encouraged to reach out for assistance.

Join us for a week of music, culture, and community in the heart of Carrickfergus. For more details and ticket information, visit our website here.
