About

Living near the dramatic cliff tops of the stunning Gobbins area in `Islandmagee,  contemporary artist Audrey Kyle is inspired by the beauty of nature, changing seasons , and the ever changing seascapes of the peninsula of Islandmagee, Co Antrim.

Join Audrey to relax and explore your creativity as she shares her unique style of contemporary art, to guide you in the art of watercolour painting.

Audrey will sketch for you a composition which you will work on together during the experience. You will also have an example of the finished piece to refer to throughout the class. She will show you how to apply watercolour stage by stage and will be on hand to help when needed, answer quesstions and give advice. Your  finished piece can then be framed when you return home to remind you of your relaxing experience. This is relaxed environment where importance is placed on relaxing and enjoying the process.

Suitable for beginners, this creative watercolour workshop lasts for 3 hours and groups are kept small so everyone receies attention. The minimum number of attendees is 4 and the maximum is 12. All materials are provided along with refreshment of tea/coffee and a sweet treat. Workshops are also available for full day experiences . This type of experience suits many age groups and is one activity which is sure to please all who attend.

The workshop is held in either a purpose built outside area in the cottage garden or alternatively in the art studio which is an old converted coach house/ stone barn. This is weather dependent but you will be in a beautiful and unique environment regarless of the choice and enjoy some down time in a relaxed location.

Audrey is also a professional storyreller so you can also expect to hear tales of folklore from the surrounding local area on smugglers, mermaids, fairies and the Islandmagee witches. Alternratively you can book a studio tour to view the gallery showing examples of her work , inspired by the unique location she calls home.

Come and immerse yourself in the relaxing environment of a working farm and spark your creativity in this unique cliff top environment.

Viewing and workshops are by appointment/prebooking all year round except February and March. Cost is £45 per person based on a minumum of 4 /maximum of 10. Other smaller private workshops options or coporate team building is available by arrangement.

Audrey became a full member of the Art Society of Ulster in 2014 and is also a member of Islandmagee Originals, a group who host the Islandmagee Art Trail at the end of August each year. She is also a member of the Économusée network promoting and sustaining traditional crafts in rural areas.
