LEVEL 2 TOUR GUIDE
David Hume is a member of Tour Guides NI and boasts many years of experience as a tour guide. He is also a keen local historian, author, lecturer, and a sometime freelance broadcaster on BBC Radio Ulster.
He specialises in Ulster-Scots, Ulster-American, and 19th and 20th-century Irish history, but he is fascinated by all aspects of history.
He delivers talks and tours on a wide variety of subjects, including graves of famous historical figures, tourism history, literary connections, folklore, and general tours featuring Ulster-Scots sites, American links, First and Second World War history, and seafaring connections.
He has created bespoke tours, including in recent years for international tour operators, historical societies, and community groups. He possesses a good working knowledge of sites and locations across Northern Ireland. His main centre of operation is East Antrim, although he covers other areas as well. He is often praised for his ability to retain a wealth of information and bring history to life, something he always endeavours to do.
