Full steam ahead for a look at historical events surrounding the Larne line including some of those who worked on the railway, the Porter Poet John MacNeill and his writing, the opening of the line from Carrick to Larne in 1862, the Briggs Loop landslide of 1910 which derailed the Larne Harbour train, some of the famous figures who used the train from Larne including Sir George White, the hero of the Siege of Ladysmith, politicians Randolph Churchill, Bonar Law, Winston Churchill and more. This will be an entertaining sweep through history with the significance of the railway to the events of the time.
