The Whitecliff Inn

About

Near the entrance to Whitehead Train Station is The Whitecliff Inn, a traditional pub and popular modern music venue offering a welcoming and friendly visitor experience. The Whitecliff Inn has been a pub since 1894. It was originally known as The Whitehead Hotel until 1963 when it was sold to Mr Donnelly who renamed it The Whitecliff Inn.

The lounge interior is traditionally decorated with a selection of original Rowel Friers paintings which are rare to have in colour. Many black and white photographs of Whitehead in Victorian times are on display featuring the railway station, the promenade and the original Whitehead Hotel, which preceded the current building. It attracts locals and visitors of all ages and is the main hot spot for evening entertainment in Whitehead, so pop in for a drink if you’re visiting or staying in the town!

We serve an extensive range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. You can pull your own pint of Guinness and receive your Guinness certificate from us. For parties/groups, pour your own guinness and whiskey tasting with a cheese board is available. (bookable in advance)

Facilities include a spacious ground floor pub with dance floor and a small stage which can accommodate up to 100 customers. Picnic tables outside for alfresco drinks in the summer and a traditional roaring fire inside for winter nights. Regular entertainment includes live music every other week, Karaoke quarterly and regular charity quiz nights throughout the year. We have 3 television screens, a surround sound system, free wifi and an outdoor smoking area with heating available.
Check our Facebook page to see who is playing and for upcoming events.

The Gypsy Moth Lounge upstairs @ The Whitecliff is available for private functions and parties for a fee of £50* (Free of charge for meetings). The room includes audio/visual facilities.
